Welcome to Rutuja Chitra-Tarak’s research portfolio! I’m a forest and climate-change ecologist.

The central focus of my research is to better understand the fate of pivotal ecosystems such as the tropical forests under global climate change stressors. For this, I collect and integrate diverse datasets and develop computational algorithms to improve ecological processes represented in Earth-system models. This research advances our understanding of the ecological principles that shape complex ecosystems. The ultimate goal of this research is to foster informed policy.

My research improves our understanding of how plant ecosystems function, and respond to climate change.
